DEPARTMENT OF EXPERIMENTAL ENTOMOLOGY
Functions and
tasks:
To study
experimentally on mass-rearing insects providing a contribution to practical
solutions to pest control and using of insect resources for socio- economic
development and environmental protection.
Activities:
Studying on
ecological factors in odder to maximize the production of insect rearing and
using they for control insect pests attacking cultivated crops.
Undertook
successful research on biology and ecology of Trichogramma spp. and using it to
control some of important target pests in the field.
Identifying
some insect goups and restore ant collections in the laboratory.
Carrying out
several National and ministerial level and International Research Project.
Cooperation:
Kagoshima
University, Kyushu University, Gakugei Tokyo University, Hokaido University,
Ryukyus University (Japan); International Network to study on ants (ANeT),
ASEAN Regional Center for biodiversity conservation (ARCBC), International
Institute of Biocontrol (CAB), BioNet.
